I’m hearing a lot these days about self care. Everyone has their own ideas about what self care means to them and how they go about achieving it. There is lots of talk about meditation, mindfulness, getting enough sleep, yoga, exercise. All of these things can reap huge benefits for us. For me though, sometime self-care is about just switching off my laptop and getting lost in a good book or even binge watching a great series on Netflix. Unplugging and doing what makes me happy is sometimes the best form of self-care.
But I can’t even begin to think about self-care without focusing my attention on what we put into our bodies to care for ourselves.
It’s what I do for a living after all – teach people how to look after themselves through nutrition. So I’ve put together a list of the best things I think we can all do to look after ourselves through what we eat.
